Some major changes have taken place over the past several months. After serving on staff at Open Door Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL for the past 8 years, God has moved my family and me closer to our hometown of Lake Charles, LA. Although we were excited to be closer to home, we were sad to leave so many friends and what we considered family. We definitely appreciate Open Door for the love, kindness and acceptance that they lavished on our family over the past 8 years. We will never forget.

On March 29, 2009 I accepted the position as Pastor of Worship and Arts at the First Baptist Church of Beaumont, TX. After a very hard “goodbye”, and many hugs and tears, we left Tuscaloosa on April 30th and I began working at FBC Beaumont on May 4th.

We moved in with my wife’s parents, who live in the Lake Charles area, and stayed there for 7 weeks where I would commute back and forth from Lake Charles to Beaumont (about a 45min. drive). On June 18th we closed on a new home and moved in on June 20th, making us official residents of Beaumont, TX.

As of now, things are very busy as I settle into my new position. But God is good. The people at FBCB have welcomed us with open arms and already made us feel like part of the family. I am excited to see what God is going to do in this new phase of life.
